This type of piece is consistently associated with the workshop of Henry Schlevogt, whose firm was the preeminent producer of malachite glass wares in this exact figural idiom during the interwar decades. The vase features four distinct high-relief figural panels wrapping its full circumference, depicting draped and semi-nude female figures, a figure playing a lyre, and wave and foliate motifs — all rendered in the neoclassical Art Deco vocabulary characteristic of Schlevogt's celebrated pressed-glass lines. Unmarked; attributed to the Schlevogt workshop or a closely related Bohemian maker, in the style of the "Ingrid" and Bacchantes malachite series, circa 1925–1940.

Condition:

Excellent vintage condition throughout

Strong, vivid malachite coloration with characteristic dark-to-bright green marbling

All four figural relief panels are crisp and well-defined

No chips, cracks, or repairs noted

Normal minor surface wear consistent with age and handling

Details:

Material: Mold-pressed opaque malachite glass

Form: Tall tumbler/vase, slightly tapered toward scalloped faceted foot ring

Decoration: Four-sided all-around high-relief figural scenes — draped figures, nudes, harpist, foliate and wave motifs

Rim: Slightly irregular organic profile typical of Schlevogt pressed production

Era: Art Deco, circa 1925–1940

Origin: Bohemia, Czechoslovakia

Unmarked; attributed to Schlevogt workshop or closely related Bohemian maker

Perfect for:

Art Deco interior schemes and curated vintage collections

Display as a standalone sculptural object on a console, shelf, or mantel

Collectors of Czech Bohemian glass, malachite glass, or Schlevogt pieces

A luxurious green accent in maximalist or jewel-toned interiors

Design Notes:

Malachite glass was developed specifically to replicate the swirling banded appearance of natural malachite stone, and the Schlevogt workshop elevated it into a fine decorative art form during the Art Deco period. The all-around figural relief on this vase — with each face presenting a distinct narrative scene — places it among the more elaborate and collectible examples of this genre. The deep emerald tones and tactile sculptural surface make it as visually compelling in person as it is historically significant.
