Early 20th Century Spanish–Mudejar Decorative Mirror – Architectural Miniature – Great Find
Handcrafted Moorish Revival Archway Mirror – Inspired by the Alhambra, Spain
Origin:
A finely crafted early 20th-century Spanish Mudejar-style decorative mirror, inspired by the grand arches of the Alhambra in Granada and the Real Alcázar of Seville. This piece features a miniature architectural façade rendered in ornate Moorish Revival detail — scalloped arches, intricate arabesque carving, and slender classical columns — all framed within a richly layered, gilded wooden frame. Works like this were often produced by Spanish ateliers and souvenir workshops between 1900–1940, reflecting the revival of Islamic-Andalusian artistry during that era.
The craftsmanship, depth of relief, and architectural accuracy closely resemble documented pieces by artisans such as Fernando L. Hidalgo, known for miniature archway scenes and ornamental Moorish replicas.
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition. The mirror surface is clear, and the carved architectural elements are exceptionally crisp. Minor age wear to the gilded frame adds to its authenticity and character. Ready to hang.

- Width: 37 cm

Details:
This mirror presents a sculptural three-dimensional façade, drawing the eye with its repeating arches and meticulously patterned stucco-style motifs. The golden tones of the carved frame echo the warm palette of Andalusian palaces, while the inner border creates dramatic depth around the miniature colonnade. The piece balances ornamentation with elegance, making it both a decorative focal point and a collectible object for lovers of Andalusian, Moorish, or classical European interiors.
Its architectural presence makes it ideal for hallways, reading rooms, or curated wall galleries. Whether displayed alone or grouped with other Mudejar-inspired artifacts, it evokes the romance and historic grandeur of Spain’s Islamic architectural heritage.
