Vintage from the 1970s–80s – Rare Find – Collector’s Glass Art

Bohemian Glass – Sculptural Form – Czech Modernism

Origin:

A dazzling hand-blown glass ashtray from the famed Czech glassworks Chribska, believed to be Catalogue No. 301/5/27. Made in the 1970s–1980s, this piece embodies the height of Bohemian glass artistry. It features a rich cobalt blue center that gradually lightens towards the edges, all encased in thick clear crystal. The freeform ruffled design is both fluid and architectural — catching and refracting light in hypnotic ways.

This sculptural form was designed to function as both a utilitarian ashtray and a decorative centerpiece, emblematic of the bold, expressive glass design language of mid-century Eastern Europe.

Condition:

Excellent vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Some movement marks at the base consistent with age and use.

Size:

• Height: 6.5 cm

• Width: 15.5 cm

• Estimated Weight: ~0.7 kg

Details:

This piece is a visual stunner — the contrast between the inky cobalt core and transparent casing gives it both weight and elegance. When placed in sunlight, it casts striking shadows and colorful reflections, making it a standout on any coffee table, console, or shelf. A beautiful fusion of function and form.

Perfect for:

  • Mid-century glass collectors & lovers of Czech design
  • Eclectic interior styles, from retro glam to modern luxe
