Vintage 20th Century – Japanese Studio Stoneware

A complete seven-piece Japanese stoneware tea and sake service, produced in the 20th century in the Japanese studio-pottery tradition.
The teapot is hand-glazed in a mottled brown and carries an impressed six-character seal mark to the base, accompanied by a turquoise-glazed stoneware sake pot and five assorted cups.
The warm earthen brown set against the sake pot's turquoise gives the group a quiet, collected character, and each piece carries the hand-thrown irregularity prized in Japanese ceramics.
