Vintage from the Mid-20th Century – Rare Find – Collector’s Item


Origin:

A highly collectible and iconic piece from Whitefriars Glass, England. This heavy art glass bowl—pattern No. 9409—was designed by the celebrated Geoffrey Baxter in 1957, during the golden era of mid-century modern glassmaking. Known as the “molar” bowl for its distinctive lobed design, it features controlled bubbles suspended in vibrant ruby red glass, encased in clear crystal.


This sculptural piece is a testament to Whitefriars’ mastery of color and form. With its organic, tooth-like silhouette and deep color saturation, it is a showstopping example of British post-war glass design.


Condition:

Excellent vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Minimal age-related wear consistent with 1950s origin. Polished pontil base is intact.
